Colleague Teacher

What is a Colleague Teacher (CT)?

Under the direction of the Director of Special Education/Student Services and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, the CT's primary responsibility is to articulate, promote, and support collaboration among professionals with regards to the initiatives and philosophy of the Cherry Hill School District.

How can/does the CT provide support to teachers?

  • CT provides one-on-one support for staff who are new to teaching, new to the district, new to a grade level, or those interested in working with colleague teachers to provide job embedded professional development and best practice instruction.
  • CT provides support to communities of teachers through district-wide professional development, focus groups, facilitating communication among staff and collaborative inquiry.
  • CT supports building level initiatives through collaborative consultation, modeling, peer coaching, team teaching, and cooperative planning.
  • CT for Special Education participates collaboratively with Child Study Teams to revise policies, procedures, district level forms, and other mandate-related requirements/activities.
