Even if we redistricted our middle schools, nearly all students assigned to Rosa would be eligible for transportation under the district’s hazardous routes guidelines (because of Rosa’s location and the absence of sidewalks along Browning Lane). Therefore, the savings in transportation costs would be relatively small.
Students whose families opt for open enrollment at the elementary level are not provided transportation; transportation must be provided by the families.
It is difficult to quantify potential cost savings for redistricting all of our elementary schools.
No.
Last year, the school district had to set aside funding in the 2012-2013 budget for projected enrollments of Cherry Hill students at the Regis Academy Charter School. The district received several projections from the NJ DOE and set aside $608,825 for Regis, based on a projected enrollment of 50 Cherry Hill students. (This was the lowest of three enrollment projections provided to the district by the NJ DOE.) In July 2012, the school was denied its final charter and did not open.
There is no enrollment projection for Regis for 2013-2014.
